While I’m not new to blogs, I am new to WMG Publishing, Inc. I’m Joy Wilson, the director of sales and marketing at WMG and I’m excited—oh, so excited—to be here!
And while I’m new to WMG Publishing, Inc., I’m not new to Fiction River. I’ve been reading it for the last several months and, truly, I love it! There are authors that I’ve known for a while and authors that are new to me. And, since starting to work here, I’ve met, talked or chatted with several of them. And they’re really nice people!
We’re in the middle of the Fiction River Subscription Drive on Kickstarter. Check it out for the full story.

Clik here to view. The short of it is that we know there’s a better way to do subscription drives and that’s what this Kickstarter project is all about. And Kickstarter is fun! We’re having a blast coming up with great rewards for supporters, brainstorming on video ideas, and really looking forward to great stories in the upcoming editions of Fiction River.
With this Kickstarter subscription drive, we’re trying to get as many new subscribers as possible. So, let your friends and family know. We’d love to see that supporter number rise!
Just so you know, I’m a book nerd. Love them. Have waaaay too many of them. Want lots more of them. I’ve worked in two libraries because I wanted to. I love the smell of bookstores. My husband gets annoyed because there are books all through the house that I’m currently in the process of reading… one in the bathroom, one in the bedroom, one by my chair. I have good stories on my smart phone so I am never without something to read. There are even a couple books in my emergency go-bag in case of tsunami or earthquake. One of my great fears is that I won’t live long enough to read all the books I want to read. And more books keep being written, so there’s that.
But Fiction River soothes that fear. I’m an incredibly busy person with too much to do. You probably fall into that category, right? It’s hard to sit and enjoy a good book when the dog needs walking and is barking in your face, “Walk! Now! “ Or the dishes have piled up and you have to get them washed because there are no more clean forks. And the laundry. And the bills. And the dreaded, “What’s for dinner tonight?” The list goes on.
With Fiction River, I get to read an entire story, start to finish, without feeling guilty about spending all day caught up in a whole book. And they’re awesome stories! I haven’t read one yet in Fiction River that I haven’t liked. And so many of them I’ve loved! And that leads me to look for other books by those authors. Other books to add to my overstuffed bookshelves and book piles. Other books that will enrich and entertain me, stretch my imagination and provide good conversation fodder the next time I’m in a room full of actual people.
If you like books, if you like good entertainment, if you like a great story, then join me on the Fiction River journey. It will be so good to travel with fellow book nerds.
